Meet D. Colby Addison, the founder and principal attorney leading Addison Law Firm's Oklahoma civil rights, injury, tribal law, and employment practice.

Founder & Principal Attorney
"We don't just take cases. We take on causes. Every client represents a life that has been disrupted, and our job is to set it right."
D. Colby Addison is the attorney behind Addison Law Firm. He combines more than a decade of trial experience with deep-rooted government and judicial service. A seasoned litigator who has handled thousands of cases, he brings a practical advantage to every matter he oversees, having certified numerous classes of litigation and recovered millions in settlements and verdicts.
Mr. Addison's legal acumen extends far beyond the courtroom. He has advised and counseled legislative bodies, both state and tribal, on lawmaking and served as a trusted advisor to legislators and governors. His diverse experience includes representing state agencies responsible for overseeing hundreds of millions of dollars in assets. He also served as an Administrative Law Judge for the Oklahoma Civil Service Division, presiding over employment disputes involving state agencies and employees—experience that directly informs his employment litigation practice today.
Currently serving as a Tribal Supreme Court Justice, Mr. Addison brings a rare perspective from the bench that enhances his advocacy. His foundation in legal excellence was established early, having served on the Oklahoma Law Review. He has also been selected to Super Lawyers Rising Stars for 2019 through 2026. Outside of his practice, he is a devoted husband and father.
Addison Law Firm prepares serious injury, trucking, civil rights, and wrongful death cases with litigation in mind from the first intake. That means early preservation letters, route and venue analysis, medical proof development, damages modeling, witness work, and a clear record of what the defendant knew and failed to do.
Colby's background includes trial practice, administrative adjudication, tribal appellate service, state and tribal government advising, and plaintiff-side litigation. The point is practical: insurance companies and government defendants should see a file that is being built for proof, not merely for negotiation.
